Formed in 1981, DEFTA AIRAX , has been in charge of Design, Manufacturing and Supply of Gas Springs to the Automotive Industry.

1978 : ALLINQUANT (Shock absorbers) developed know-how in gas spring technology.

1981 : Creation of SOCALFRAN in Chemaudin near Besançon (France).

1982 : First production orders from Renault and from PSA Peugeot/Citroën.

1985 : SOCALFRAN changes its name to AIRAX.

1986 : AIRAX becomes member of Laird's Automotive Components Divistion in France .

End of 2000: AIRAX becomes member of Trelleborg's Automotive Business Area, within the Business Unit "Trelleborg Automotive Europe".
